Our care navigation team is growing and we need you!
The post holder will work within a large team of medical receptionists, liaising with GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants and administration staff.
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Dealing with telephone calls and managing face to face enquiries, booking appointments, directing patients to the right person and/or organisation
- Taking accurate messages and identifying the priority/urgency of the message
- Generating electronic repeat prescriptions and sending them to the GP for sign off
- Compiling new patient registration packs
- Undertaking duties as required by the operations and deputy operations manager
- To communicate in a professional, friendly and open manner with patients, carers and the general public to maintain an excellent profile for the practice
- To communicate effectively and sensitively with service users who may be angry, confrontational, upset, anxious, fearful or have communication difficulties such as poor language skills, hearing loss or learning disabilities
- To support the effective maintenance and management of practice systems
- Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety / environmental procedures
- Under the Data Protection Act 1998, the post holder must maintain the confidentiality of information about patients and staff. The work is of a confidential nature and information gained must not be communicated to other persons except in the recognised course of duty.
Candidate One: Working hours will be (24 hours):
- Monday: 8:30am to 6:30pm
- Tuesday: 8:30am to 6:30pm
- Friday: 1:30pm to 6:30pm
Candidate Two: Working hours will be (24 hours):
- Monday: 8:30am to 6:30pm
- Tuesday: 1:30pm to 6:30pm
- Friday: 8:30am to 6:30pm
When applying for either position you need to ensure you can do the hours advertised, we are unable to manipulate these times to suit individual circumstances.
Starting salary will be £12.50 rising to £13.05 after passing a three month probation period.
