We have been asked by NHS England to support an urgent vaccination response following an outbreak of Meningococcal disease in Kent. Although we are a long distance from the area, we want to ensure any patients who have recently returned home from Kent University or visited the Canterbury area are protected.
Therefore please only contact the practice if you fall into one of the below categories currently being recalled by NHS England:
- You are a student of the University of Kent who normally resides on Canterbury Campus but have now returned home to Cheltenham
- You were a student or staff member from other Canterbury Universities who were advised to take preventative antibiotics due to close contact with infected individuals
- You attended Club Chemistry in Canterbury between 5th March and 16th March 2026
- You are a sixth form student rom a school in Kent who has been specifically notified by their school or the UKHSA
