Surgery Closure on Tuesday 14th July

Hatherley Branch Surgery will be closed all day on Tuesday 14th July so that essential maintenance can be carried out on the property.

Weston House Practice and the phone lines will remain open from 8:00-6:30pm, please still continue to contact the Practice should you need medical assistance.

As a reminder your local Pharmacy can deal with the following conditions with the ability to prescribe antibiotics without the need for a GP appointment:

> Earache (aged 1-17 years)

> Impetigo (aged 1+)

> Infected insect bites (aged 1+)

> Shingles (aged 18+)

> Sinusitis (aged 12+)

> Sore throat (aged 5+)

> UTI (Women aged 16-64)

Meningococcal Disease in Kent

We have been asked by NHS England to support an urgent vaccination response following an outbreak of Meningococcal disease in Kent. Although we are a long distance from the area, we want to ensure any patients who have recently returned home from Kent University or visited the Canterbury area are protected.

Therefore please only contact the practice if you fall into one of the below categories currently being recalled by NHS England:

  • You are a student of the University of Kent who normally resides on Canterbury Campus but have now returned home to Cheltenham
  • You were a student or staff member from other Canterbury Universities who were advised to take preventative antibiotics due to close contact with infected individuals
  • You attended Club Chemistry in Canterbury between 5th March and 16th March 2026
  • You are a sixth form student rom a school in Kent who has been specifically notified by their school or the UKHSA

If you meet at least one of the criteria above and have not already received a vaccine at a clinic in Kent and are now back home in Cheltenham please call the Surgery on 01242 215000 to book your appointment.
