Main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Dealing with phone calls and managing face to face enquiries, booking appointments, directing patients to the right person and/or organisation.
- Taking accurate messages and identifying the priority/urgency of the message.
- Generating electronic repeat prescriptions and sending them to the GP for sign off.
- Compiling new patient registration packs.
- Undertaking duties as required by the operations and deputy operations manager.
- To communicate in a professional, friendly and open manner with patients, carers and the general public to maintain an excellent profile for the practice.
- To communicate effectively and sensitively with service users who may be angry, confrontational, upset, anxious, fearful or have communication difficulties such as poor language skills, hearing loss or learning disabilities.
- To support the effective maintenance and management of practice systems.
- Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety / environmental procedures.
- Under the Data Protection Act 1998, the post holder must maintain the confidentiality of information about patients and staff. The work is of a confidential nature and information gained must not be communicated to other persons except in the recognised course of duty.
Working hours will be (20 hours):
- Monday: 1:30pm to 6:30pm
- Tuesday: 1:30pm to 6:30pm
- Thursday: 1:30pm to 6:30pm
- Friday: 1:30pm to 6:30pm
Starting salary will be £12.21 rising to £13.05 after passing a three month probation period.
